Success Stories
Real change happens when research turns into action. Our partnerships with schools, colleges, and organizations have helped strengthen motivation, improve student outcomes, and remove barriers to success. These stories highlight how evidence-based ideas can make a meaningful difference in real-world learning environments.
“As long-term partners, we’ve deeply benefited from the Navigate Project's research-based approach, which has helped ground both our curriculum and advising practices in proven strategies. Their partnership was especially critical when our organization shifted its mission to focus on 1:1 advising. At that pivotal moment, they provided the knowledge, tools, and resources that guided my team’s work. As a result, we now have a robust advising framework that centers mindset GPS and aligns seamlessly with our own Pillars of Fellow Success.”
“The medical student population is a population of diverse learning in a multitude of ways. Whether it be culture, ethnicity, age, sexual orientation, ability, neurodiversity, life experience, and so forth, the teaching methods need to be inclusive and build a sense of community and trust. Students lose empathy and belonging during their training - the trend should go in the opposite direction and I believe the information presented in the [Resilient Mindsets in Medicine] course will help turn the tide.”
“The Navigate Project and GPS learning mindsets have had such an impact on my work. Particularly the research on value-setting with students and training around Mindset GPS, both for students and the systems they interact with, have completely shifted my approach.I used to only focus on motivating students through encouragement and connecting them to resources. Now, I take it a step further by deeply understanding their values and helping them stay disciplined in their goals. I ensure this by connecting their education to what matters most to them. This perspective has transformed how I approach student engagement, ensuring every connection fosters trust, motivation, and a clear path forward. No one wants to ask for help in a place they don't feel comfortable.”
“This course grapples with 2 very important issues for educators, it breaks down the motivation for all students, but stresses the need to pay attention to the students who come from marginalized backgrounds. The majority of professors, and instructors are still from a homogenized community and do not necessarily represent all of the various aspects of our interfaith, and racial communities, making communication difficult and awkward at times. Breaking these barriers in education and medicine and education is imperative...”
